Ich spiele gerade mit der neuen Version von plazes herum (momentan noch private beta, geht aber in wenigen Tagen online).

Ich glaube, das wird ein deutlicher Fortschritt an Alltagsrelevanz!

Nur soviel vorab: Die neue Version wird wirklich komplett anders werden. Von der alten, eng an den Plazer gebundenen Denke muss man sich komplett verabschieden. Stattdessen wurden einige Elemente eingeführt, die eher an Twitter erinnern.

Konkret heisst das: Es geht küntig mehr um Echtzeitkommunikation. Man kann auf verschiedenste Weise in einen Plaze ‘einchecken’ (neben dem Plazer auch direkt per Web, unterstützt von einer smarten Suggestsuche oder auch über SMS). Dadurch wird die Sache wesentlich flexibler und auch Plätze ohne Wifi können bei Plazes eine stärkere Rolle spielen. Zum anderen kann man an jedem Plaze Statusmessages absenden, ähnlich wie bei Twitter eben.

Man kann auch manuell früher besuchte Plazes taggen oder angeben, wo man sich in der Zukunft aufhalten wird.

Gespannt bin ich, wie sich das dann alles im Zusammenhang mit den verschiedenen Tools für Desktop, Handy und Blog darstellen wird.

Wir werden mit dem neuen Plazes sicher viel Spaß haben…
